After its report on online searches for men’s jewelry, Karus Chains – a New York based specialty online retailer dealing in silver and gold chains for men, have published a new report enumerating and detailing the actual Top 10 online searched Jewelry brands in the June 2014 – May 2015 period.
Globally, 128.3 million searches were made for the Top 10 Jewelry brands. The research measured 6,417 search terms of the Top 10 brands based on Google searches, representing 70.8% of total online searches. Brand specific search terms of 39 of the top global jewelry brands were researched and watches were consciously excluded from the research to accurately reflect various jewelry categories including rings, necklaces, diamonds, bracelets, earrings etc.
While this research does not necessarily reflect the actual brand performance, increase in online searches for a brand can be an indicator of increase in the brand’s online sales. For example, online searches for Pandora’s bracelets and charms increased by 22% and its annual sales for the same products also rose by 25% YoY.
Besides, the report clearly differentiates its research from Google Trends report – Trending Jewelry Brands, which probably does not factor the overall number of searches. 9 out of the Top 10 brands as per the Google Trends report have search volumes much lesser than the actual Top 10 searched Jewelry brands. For example, while Gucci takes the pole position in Google Trends list, only 400,000 searches were made for Gucci jewelry resulting in its exclusion from the list of Top 10 searched jewelry brands. List of Google Trends will give entirely different results from the actually searched Top 10 jewelry brands.
Here is the list of the actual Top 10 searched Jewelry Brands globally:
5) Thomas Sabo
7) DAVID YURMAN
8) KENDRA SCOTT
10) MICHAEL KORS
Some brands like Harry Winston, De Beers, Mikimoto, John Hardy and Boucheron just missed from making the cut in the Top 10 searched Jewelry Brands.
