World’s leading Lab-grown diamond producer, Singapore-based IIa Technologies has won the prestigious SME100 award. A leading company in the grown diamond technology, which has conducted trailblazing research in diamond growth for over a decade, was recognized in Singapore for being one of the fastest growing Small & Medium Enterprises (SME). The award is an annual recognition organized by SME & Entrepreneurship Magazine, a best-selling Asian business magazine.

IIa Technologies has a state-of-art diamond growing greenhouse in Singapore and is probably the only Lab-grown diamond company that possess the capability to not only support large jewelry retailers but also conduct high quality research and development for diamond applications. The eponymous company produces Type IIa diamonds, the purest diamond type.

Last year IIa Technologies, which uses MPCVD (Microwave Plasma Chemical Vapor Deposition) technique to grow diamonds, inaugurated its newest 200,000 square foot diamond greenhouse in Singapore. Since its commencement in 2005, IIa Technologies has invested over USD 110 million in its high-tech diamond greenhouse and has R&D collaboration and MOUs with several universities and technical institutes including IIT Bombay, Cornell University, Rutgers University, Nanyang Technological University, NUS et al.

Popularity and uptake of Lab-grown diamonds have been rising phenomenally lately and the Lab-grown sector is soaring. In 2015, IIa Technologies grew around 350,000 carats of Lab-grown diamonds. The company’s marketing arm – Pure Grown Diamonds had won the NCW magazine’s Eco-Excellence award in the Eco-Good: Most Socially Responsible Category in 2015. SME100s Fast Moving Companies award win gives a further boost to IIa Technologies.
